After a lot of searching and trialing we sourced a treater that ticks all
the boxes.

Top of the list is it's 'ANIMAL & BIRD SAFE'.
Being water based, unlike oil based treaters (with their inherent environmental issues) it can be applied to damp timbers without determent to the effectiveness of the treatment so no waiting for that elusive sunny dry spell. This also enables a second coat to be applied as soon as the first is 'tacky' which is within moments. And the brush can be washed out under the tap!
When applied it has a watered down milk look so you can see where you've been, but when dry is totally transparent so no brush marks or runs show ..(easy to apply)
Forshams Arks are protected against rot in that the timbers are pressured treated before assembly and we treat the end cuts with a proprietary end grain protector. FORSHAM WOOD SEALER applies a water repellent raincoat to the ark shedding the rain so it does not dwell and capillary into the house via board joints and the inevitable small cracks that will appear over time.
